Blue spruce (Picea pungens)

The Picea pungens, commonly known as the blue spruce, is native to North America. This conifer grows 15-30 meters tall with blue-green needles. It prefers well-drained, acidic soil and full sun exposure, though it can tolerate shade. Its water requirements are moderate. The tree produces cone-shaped fruit. It's often used ornamentally in gardens and is popular as a Christmas tree.

The air-dry weight of its wood is 425 kg/m3, it is a good building material, easy to work with and only durable in a dry environment.
