Black pine (Pinus nigra)

The Pinus nigra, commonly known as the black pine, is native to the mountainous regions of Europe and Asia Minor. It can grow between 20-30 meters tall and adapts well to various soil types, thriving best in deep, nutrient-rich soils. It prefers full sunlight and has moderate water needs. Its cones, measuring 5-10 cm, serve as the fruit. The wood is widely used in construction, furniture making, and the paper industry.
